Veritas is latin for truth. It’s use signifies for us a desire to live with a posture of seeking what is true in order to live in a way that is more true and good. The Veritas Forum was started at Harvard in 1992 by a group of students, faculty, and ministers, who felt there was an emptiness in the academic process. Many had stopped addressing the most important questions of life and how to integrate their academic knowledge with their lives in a coherent way.
Carrying on the Veritas brand, we are attempting to get people excited to talk about big questions. We are working to create a space that connects people, across social and educational lenses, into meaningful conversation and helps us to genuinely listen and learn from one another in order to better live amid the challenging and sometimes tense questions implicating our world today.
