The skinny: 10:30am at the Lighthouse, 10 Mill Rd, 03824
Often called Church, as in, “You go to Church?” We believe a gathering for Christian worship is meant to be a community ritual inspiring connection and integration within individuals, community, our world, and God.
Like many church or parish communities, Sunday is our primary large group gathering time. Our goal, of coarse, is that it won’t be the only time we see one another. Knowing that we all face times where we’re so busy that connecting with real friends even once a week is refreshing, and that for many people one of the primary entry points into a community of faith is Sunday, we try to make our weekly gathering times meaningful and connective.
The Fusion Gathering takes place at 10 Mill Rd. in Durham, NH 03824. There’s a small parking lot behind the building, and plenty of free parking at the UNH C-lot, 50 yards away (C-lot parking is only free on weekends, don’t make that $50 mistake).
We begin to filter in around 10:30am for brunch and transition to a more structured meeting around 11:15am.
We come together around food and couches, creating an atmosphere that feels more like friends in a living room than a bunch of people sitting in for a lecture, yet we also seek to connect with meaningful liturgy from various streams of the Church. When it comes to the scripture teaching, we typically have space for questions and dialogue, though one can feel comfortable just taking in the experience.
Gatherings usually include:
- -Worship and Prayer, connecting us to God ,the great needs of our world, and our calling to serve.
- -A Teaching from the Bible that helps us understand God, the world, and our purpose in it.
- -Community Celebration, where we bring our stories, art, music, and poetry, drawing attention to the “Divine in the daily”
